George Franklin Cox, 73, of New London, died Saturday, September 9, 2017.

Memorial Graveside Services, 11:00 AM, Friday, September 15, 2017, at Franklinville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Officiating, Pastor Gary Coble.

George was a native of Randolph County, retired from Ramtex and attended St. Matthews Lutheran Church. He was a volunteer fireman with 44 years of service in Franklinville and Badin Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Basil and Forrest Presnell Cox, wife, Phoebe Jane Cox, and daughter in law, Lisa Cox.

Survivors: sons, David Cox, and wife, Donna, of New London, Michael Cox, James Cox, and wife, Jennifer, both of Asheboro, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, companion, Joan Everhart.

The family will receive friends at the home of his granddaughter, Miranda Cox, 733 Liberty Street, Ramseur.
