Garland Edward Venable, 71, of 8118 Highway 220 N., Randleman, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation Center in Asheboro.
Funeral Services, 2 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, Ramseur.
Officiating, Rev. David Hunt.
Burial, Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
Garland was a native of Randolph County and retired from Klaussner Furniture. He was an avid fisherman, and devoted N.C. Tar Heel fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Frances Connor Venable, and brother, Doug Venable
Survivors: wife, Dorothy Venable, of the home, daughters, Lisa Venable Crews, of High Point, Kimberly Venable McGuire, of Lexington, adopted sons, Michael Venable, of Asheboro, Robert Venable of the home, Jackie Venable, of the home, sister, Anita McGrew, of Florence, SC, grandchildren, Brandon Sellers, Matthew McGuire, Morgan South, Christopher Crews, Hannah Harrison Cooper, great-grandchildren, Paris McGuire, Chloe South.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Randolph Cancer Center in Asheboro, and to Dr. Dequincy Lewis and his staff for their dedication and effort to provide quality and compassionate care for Mr. Venable over a ten year period. We who are left behind would like to thank God for the gift of Garland's life and the blessing of the time we were able to spend with him.
