Charles James Townsend, Jr., 85, of Ramseur, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Charles was a native of Jefferson County, New York, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles James, and Lee Beaumont Townsend Sr., his wife, Barbara Blanding Townsend, one brother, and one sister.
Survivors: daughter, Trina Crook, of Ramseur, brother, Robert Townsend, and wife, Judy, of Central Square Syracuse, NY, grandchildren, LisaAnn Crook, of Antwerp, NY, and Nichlos Crook, of Ramseur.
